“Jakarta Model United Nations (JMUN) 2011 is one of prominent programs of ISAFIS (Indonesian Student Association for International Studies). JMUN would take place in Jakarta on 26-30 June 2011 with diverse delegates come from mainly Indonesia and also targeting some foreign delegates. The delegates are active and brilliant students from various universities. JMUN asks each delegate to step into the shoes of those from entirely different cultures, to gain much better understanding across borders.
In JMUN, every delegate will be representing a member state of the UN in one of the committees of the UN system. There are three committee provided in JMUN: General Assembly, WTO, and UNHRC.
JMUN will be held in 26-30 June 2011. Every delegate should apply individually, deadline 20th May. The application fee is 400.000 IDR, including sertificate, food, and accomodation, but not including place to stay.
Registration is now opened. Submission’s deadline: May 20th, 2011, 11.59 pm. Please visit http://www.jakartamun.org for further brief explanation, including application info. CP: Levriana Yusriani 085692050663“
Since this is the first MUN conducted by ISAFIS, you shouldn’t expect this JMUN is in the same level of HNMUN, WMUN, or HongkongMUN. Maybe it’s prestige is similar with IndonesiaMUN 2010. However, this is a good opportunity to try and feel the experience of MUN, especially for beginners.
If you’re interested to apply for JMUN, please note that we will apply individually, not in a group called ITB delegation. So JMUN delegates from ITB won’t seek for sponsors or fund from LK, and won’t make publications (such as banner) as the delegation of ITB.
But even if we apply individually, I think it’s better if we do the preparation together. I’d like to help by sharing MUN experience and providing guidelines for first timers. So if you plan to participate in JMUN 2011, please contact me soon – Imam (085659278822). Thank you🙂
